A little over a year ago, in October 2012, when I started this site, it was nothing more than a place for me to post pretty pictures and talk about expensive clothes I couldn’t afford. I expanded to create a portfolio of some of my work, which at the time was my fashion drawings and photos from shoots I’d styled or assisted on. I started writing about & posting pictures of my travels last December when I moved to England for a while. This spring and summer I documented my foray into furniture refinishing & home accessories.
This last year has been an adventure, to say the least. Personally and professionally, I find myself in a completely different place today than I was in a year ago, and it is a beautiful thing. I can’t think of a more applicable quote than this one from C.S. Lewis;
“Isn’t it funny how day by day nothing changes, but when you look back, everything is different…”
I would be remiss if I didn’t take a moment to recognize how much love and support I’ve felt through this site. Last October my stats told me that 80 people viewed my space on the web (I was thrilled!). In January 2013 that number surpassed 1,000 in just one month (wow). Yesterday when I opened my stats, my all time views had surpassed 10,000. I’m amazed and so incredibly grateful to everyone who takes the time to check out what I post here.
I have been lucky enough to have that love & support spill into my offline life; thank you again to everybody – friends, family & strangers – who came to my exhibit in September, and to everyone who came to visit me yesterday in Leslieville at the Leslieville Flea. I am so lucky to experience such an incredible amount of kindness and support. It is difficult to put into words, so I hope a great big thank you will do…
THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU… ten thousand times over.
