shopping NYC part 1: free people SoHo

freepeopleNYCI think it’s actually impossible to go to New York City and not shop. If anyone has managed such a feat, I commend you (and also feel sorry for you, because there is nothing quite like shopping in New York City). I use the term “shopping” liberally; shopping doesn’t have to mean spending money (although it is wayyy more fun if you do)… shopping can simply mean wandering through beautiful stores and feeling inspired by (also known as lusting after) all of the beautiful things.

This is exactly what I did in the Spring Street Free People store in SoHo on Friday afternoon. It was our last stop before heading out of the city, and it was magical. Their pieces are always incredibly soft, intricate and beautiful, and the decor throughout the store was made to match. I was completely captivated by the hanging baskets, garlands, chains and beading hanging from the window and ceilings. The warm afternoon sunlight added a special bit of magic too.
