I’m definitely a big fan of the “mirror shot”. Especially on days that I really like my outfit. I’m also a big proponent of wearing what works, and on those blah days when you wake up and feel zero outfit inspiration, an archive of mirror shots can come in very handy. I took this snap back in the early spring, and when I stumbled upon it the other day, I immediately thought- yes, I need to wear this again. It’s been a dark and dreary week and this was exactly what I needed to get some outfit inspiration for casual Friday at the office. I changed it up a bit for today- hair up in a messy bun and a dove grey shoulder bag, but the scarf/jacket/sweater combo remains the same! When you find a combo that works, there’s nothing wrong with a repeat every now and then! I mean, if Anna Wintour can do it, so can we.
Khaki motorcycle jacket: Alexander Wang for the Gap (from a few years ago – see it here)
Black skinny pants & tan knit sweater: H&M
Mauve handbag, with rose coloured metallic hardware: Aldo (since sold out, but the clutch version is still available)
Animal print scarf: $10 at a tiny little store near my subway stop. (it doesn’t have to cost a lot to look good!)
