how my skin is (barely) surviving the winter

winter skin essentials

I don’t know what it is about this winter, but my skin is seriously struggling. It’s so SO soooo dry. Thankfully I’ve found a few items that seem to really help…

1) Lush’s “NEW” shampoo bar

Ok this is shampoo, not skin stuff. I started using it over a month ago and it is the least drying shampoo I’ve ever tried. This is my first time trying out a shampoo bar, and I have nothing but good things to say. It lathers really well, it lasts a long time and it is really hydrating for both my scalp and hair.

2) Clarisonic

I know nothing about how these genius little things work or why the work or what they even are. All I know is with occasional use, it keeps my face incredibly soft and gets rid of any and all dead skin. Amazing.

3) Jamieson ProVitamina E Nourishing Cream

This lotion is SO moisturizing. I use it twice a day. It’s thick but not greasy (I can wash my face in the morning, use it, and put my makeup on 15-20 minutes later). I don’t think I’ll continue using it in the summer, but it is the only thing working for me in this cold dry weather.

4) Vaseline Lip Therapy with Aloe Vera

This is the best remedy for dry lips / nose. It’s soothing and keeps my lips soft. It also smells lovely and doesn’t sting dry skin.

Just a couple more months of winter left to go… I, for one, can’t wait for warmer, more humid days!
